Solar Screen Shades
How are solar shades different?
Solar screen are a type of roller shade that offer visibility of the outdoors while protecting valuable furnishings from harmful UV rays indoors. Solar screens filter the sun, offering outstanding visibility while blocking up to 97% of the glare and harmful UV rays.
What is the difference between window film and solar screens?
Solar screens offer three times the heat blockage compared to window film. During winter, solar screens insulate windows while film offers no insulation value. Light colored fabrics provide more heat reduction and diffuse interior light. Dark colored fabrics provide more glare reduction and a better view to the outside.
Will solar screens block my view?
Because the strands in the screen are spaced uniformly, your view isn’t distorted. The higher the percentage of openness of the solar shade, the more light the shade lets in and the greater your view. Solar shades are made from a PVC coated solar fabric mesh. You can live and work comfortably by reducing glare and protecting your furnishings without creating a "closed in" feeling. Solar Screen Shades filter the sun, offering outstanding visibility while blocking up to 97% of the glare and harmful UV rays.
Will solar shades lower my air conditioning and heating bills?
You can save as much as 50% on the cooling portion of your electric bill. Solar screens typically pay for themselves in about 2 years. During the winter months, solar screens act as a blanket keeping the cold winter-winds off your glass and maintaining a warmer temperature. The warmer the window glass, the less energy is wasted.
