When should I choose mini blinds?
A popular horizontal blind choice, mini blinds offer the widest color selection of all window treatments. The blinds are made of aluminum with a dust inhibitor finish or vinyl. Mini blinds offer a sleek design, making them suitable for almost any decor. Slats are available in 1” wide (most popular), 1/2”, 1-3/8” and 2”. Horizontal blinds have a long history, dating back to 1794. They were made of narrow, light-weight horizontal wood slats, adjustable to admit or exclude light. It wasn’t until the late 1940’s that lightweight aluminum slats were developed and available in 2”. They were still referred to as Venetian blinds.

What is the difference between an inside and an outside mount?
An inside mount means that the blind is mounted on the inside of the window opening. Because the mini blind slats start at ½”, inside mount depths can be as little as 1/2” and range to 3”. Review the product specifications before ordering. An outside mount should be used when there isn’t enough depth to mount the blind.

What type of valance treatments come with mini blinds?
Color-coordinated standard valances hide the head rail and add a finished look to your blind. The valances are made of one 1” slat for ½” blinds; two 1" slats for 1" blinds or one single 2" slat for 2" blinds.

What options are available for mini blinds?
Aluminum and vinyl mini blinds have come a long way in the last 20 years. Privacy or room darkening features are available on select mini blinds. By eliminating visible route holes, maximum privacy and light control is achieved. Cloth tapes are also an option which add color and contrast your new blinds. How do I clean my new mini blinds?
Regular dusting and occasional vacuuming will keep your mini blinds looking new. Use a dry feather duster or soft cloth. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Some mini blind products can be immersed in a bath tub full of water. Do not use ultrasonic cleaning or chemical solvents as this will damage the product.
