- Remember that PRECISION PAYS!
- All of Blindsaver.com's window fashions are custom
fabricated according to the dimensions given on your order.
- Measurements must be exact to ensure a proper fit.
For this reason measure to the nearest 1/8".
- Always measure the exact window intended for the
blind. Every window in your home is a unique opening and may differ
in exact measurements.
- For accurate measurements always use a 3/4"
or 1" steel tape measure.
- To eliminate mistakes first measure the width and
write it down then measure the height and write it down.
- Do not take any deductions. Deductions
will be taken by the manufactures at the factory.
- Careful attention must be given to each measurement
but measurements that pertain to the mounting areas (headrails) are
critical and must be accurate.
- Please read the rest of our measuring guides for specific measuring instructions. Links can be found on the left menu bar under Measuring Guides.
Difference between Inside Mount and Outside Mount
Inside Mount (IB) - Shade fits
within window frame
Factory will take all necessary deducts. For questions on deduct
size see item specifications or contact our customer service team.

Outside Mount (OB) - Shade
overlaps window opening
To minimize light leakage, the shade
should overlap the window opening at least 1 1/2" on each side and
at the top and bottom. For greater light control overlap your window by
2" on each side (Hunter Douglas recommended). You may vary the overlap
based on desired look. For specific overlap recommendations
please contact our customer service
team.
